Plasma files cause trouble in their own ways: a DXF drawn at the wrong scale, a STEP model of a bent part sent for a flat cut, or holes too small to pierce cleanly in thick plate. Which mesh errors are repaired?
Inverted normals, bad edges, and overlapping or intersecting triangles.
Are problem files rejected?
No. You decide: show a warning, block the price or send the part to a manual quote.
Which files are checked?
Every DXF and STEP file uploaded through your widget.
Why are small holes a problem in thick plasma plate?
The arc cuts with a wider kerf and some taper, so holes near the plate thickness in diameter often come out tapered or out of round. Many shops drill them instead.
Should customers send DXF or STEP for plasma parts?
Both can be uploaded. A DXF of the flat profile is the most common, while a STEP file lets the part be measured from the 3D model.
