What is the biggest cost driver?

How do I set quantity breaks?

Should I price laser parts by cut length or by sheet area?
Most shops use both: material by the sheet area the part consumes, and machine time by cut length and pierces. Pricing by area alone undercharges parts with many holes or detailed contours.
How does assist gas affect laser cutting cost?
Cutting stainless or aluminium with nitrogen gives a clean edge but uses far more gas than oxygen cutting of mild steel. Many shops build that into a higher rate for those materials.
